EXCITE Launch in Toronto: A Night of Inspiration and Community
On June 5th, 2023, the highly anticipated launch of EXCITE took place, leaving attendees buzzing with excitement and anticipation, knowing they were bearing witness to a significant evolution in driving digital change.
EXCITE is evolving and taking its mission to the next level: expanding the conversation to include leaders from all sectors and industries working to advance digital trust in the digital economy, online service delivery and the privacy space.
Digital economy leaders joined with title partner Interac; presenting partners Microsoft Security, Okta and TransUnion; supporting partners LexisNexis, and ForgeRock; champion partners Consult Hyperion, and New Brunswick; and builder partners the Digital Identification and Authentication Council of Canada (DIACC), Digital Identity Laboratory of Canada (ID Lab) and the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC).
The EXCITEment was obvious as old friends and new community members came together to network and connect, creating an atmosphere of community and camaraderie.
"We are thrilled to announce the evolution of the EXCITE community to expand the conversation, build new connections, and welcome leaders from every sector and industry to be part of the community advancing digital trust,” said co-chairs Aran Hamilton and Krista Pawley.
This unique opportunity allowed the team to share EXCITE’s vision with the community, ‘Over nearly two years, we have been consulting and listening to leaders both inside and outside of the community to explore what they loved about the community and where they were looking for more. EXCITE results from those consultations - a community built on strength with a vision for growth. EXCITE is more than just a new name and logo. EXCITE represents a vision for a broad, inclusive, and innovative community that builds on the best of IdentityNORTH and expands the conversation and the network.
Following the welcoming remarks, attendees were treated to an exclusive private screening of the much-anticipated movie, "BlackBerry."
Based on the critically acclaimed book "Losing the Signal," BlackBerry tells the story of the dramatic rise and fall of the iconic Canadian tech company. With co-author Sean Silcoff in attendance, attendees were treated to stories and anecdotes from the writing experience, asking questions about the process.
As the opening credits of “BlackBerry” rolled, guests immersed themselves in a thought-provoking narrative that entertained and highlighted the importance of resilience, innovation, and adaptability in the business world. The movie left an indelible impression on the audience, serving as a reminder of the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship.
At the EXCITE post-screening reception, attendees expanded the conversation as a strong and diverse community of leaders and innovators discussed their visions for the future of EXCITE.
The evening cultivated a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries felt united in their passion for advancing digital trust and progress.
